The Central Government announced that a Union Territory of Ladakh is to be created by carving out the region from the State of Jammu and Kashmir. This new Union Territory is set to come into existence on October 31. The Ladakh region is ecologically and culturally unique. The extremely fragile cold desert ecosystem of the regions has meant that its inhabitants have a very adaptive lifestyle. The population of around 3 lakh is spread sparsely over an area of about 60 thousand square kilometers.

Pangong Lake: The blue colored Pangong Lake is one of the most famous lakes located near Leh Ladakh in the Himalayas. Which is 12km long, extends from India to Tibet. This lake is built at a height of about 43 thousand meters. Because of which its temperature remains between -5 to 10 ° C. With Leh being a beautiful place of Ladakh, it has been a popular movie location in Hollywood and Hollywood.
